Marty Carney, Spring Semester Artist in Residence, has almost finished his latest oil painting in room 17.  He says that, perhaps, just another hour of finishing touches next week and it will be completed.  Here it is so far…

This week on Thursday, Marty also continued with Mr. Soik’s Honors Humanities class as they pondered and discussed “The Question of God” in Western Civilization through interacting with a video presentation which juxtaposed CS Lewis and Sigmund Freud, and their differing responses to that question.  Marty’s initial response, no surprise for an artist, was to create a sketch which explored  the question from his artistic, intuitive perspective…

And so, Marty says that this interaction between art and culture is “an intriguing adventure.”
