The Shape Integrated Project

Art Foundations 3 students are working on a shape integrated project, which addresses the use of space, repetition, color, and movement. The idea is based on the concept of “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts”.

Here are some works in progress.

Collage Painting with Drawing/Painting I Students

Drawing/Painting I students are to select a topic that you are interested in working with such as but not limited to: fashion, careers, cars, culture, surreal, random, etc. Using magazines, drawings, and newspapers they are to begin searching for images relating to their topic. Using these images they begin to cut these images out and create a collage in their sketchbook using their knowledge of appropriation and juxtaposition to determine composition. Finally, they learn how to stretch their very own canvas.

Art Foundations 3 | Self-portraits

Art Foundations 3 students were engaged in developing their self-portraits through the use of tissue paper cut into very small squares. The build up of layers demonstrated the students knowledge of their use of value.
