Tonal Gridders
The Drawing/Painting I students were to create a large format drawing based on the grid. They were to use only tones to define shapes and extend their value scale found within their subject matter. Drawings range from 16×20″ to 18’x24″.

Art Foundations 3 Students Paint Like the Masters
The Art Foundations 3 students are reproducing famous works of art from artists while studying artists like O’keefe, Kandinsky, Johns, Miro, Mondrian, Picasso, van Gogh, Matisse, Monet, Manet, and Dali. Each student selects an artist of his/her choosing and then one of the artist’s works to reproduce.
Works reproduced are to be created as close to the size that they would be seen in a museum. All paintings will be displayed at North High in a museum-style setting.
Glass work: Senior art I class makes all the pieces fit for mosaic
Congratulations to Mrs. Rokicki, North High art teacher, and her Senior Art 1 students.
Happy Holidays from the North High Art Department
From Black + White to Color
The Art Foundations 3 students completed a unit on Pen & Ink. We used three different type of pen techniques; stippling, hatching and cross-hatching to create our compositions. Once they were finished, we had to select an area that we could extend outside of the picture plane using a white charcoal pencil.
The Art Foundations 1 students completed their Self-abstract Portraits. We had to use geometric and organic shapes to break up our self-portraits. Once we designed it we had to choose a color scheme or color schemes to paint them.
