INDEPENDENT STUDY

Semester Course – 1/2 credit

Prerequisites:  Art Foundations, 1 & 2, Art Foundations 3 & 4, Drawing Intensive, Three-Dimensional Design, consent of instructor

This course is open to students who wish to pursue an area of art in depth. Students must be currently enrolled in or have taken Drawing Intensive or Drawing/Painting I.  The students must be able to express him/herself creatively, develop self-discipline and demonstrate originality in their chosen area of study.  Students will be required to submit a proposal for a course of study including artists to be investigated, vocabulary, and techniques to be explored.  This proposal should be developed with the guidance of the instructor overseeing the Independent Study.
