Celebrate Youth Art Month

Did you know that March is Youth Art Month? 

Congratulations to the following art students. These students will be representing the Sheboygan North High art department in Madison and in Sheboygan. 

In Sheboygan the following students’ work has been selected to participate in the John Michael Kohler Arts Center’s Youth Art Month Celebration. They are Elena B, Elena K, Maddie L, Tou V (teacher Ms. Mattern) and Allison N, Emma A, Gabe L, Arthur L, and Tyler G (teacher Mr. Juarez).  There is a public reception on March 5th from 11am – 3pm at JMKAC, 608 New York Avenue in Sheboygan.

In Madison the following students will be exhibiting their art at the Wisconsin Art Education Association Youth Art Month Celebration at the State Capitol. They are Elizabeth, Jenny, Emma (teacher Ms. Mattern) and Julia A, Rita D, and Allison N (teacher Mr. Juarez). There is a public reception on March 31st from 12-1pm at the Rotunda, 2 E Main St, Madison, WI 53703.

WAEA Youth Art Month State Art Exhibition in March

Join us in Madison as we celebrate Youth Art Month at the State Capitol on March 11 from 12-1pm. This event showcases 300+ works of art from across the state, middle/high school band performance, keynote speakers, and an awards ceremony. Sheboygan North High School art department will be represented by Teagan Y (gr 9), Kaylee M (gr 11), Natalie M (gr 11), Cole D (gr 12), Noah F (gr 12), and Peta S (gr 12).

North High Art Student’s Design selected for Youth Art Month Flag

Sheboygan – January 14, 2014

Sheboygan North High School Art Department is pleased to announce Autumn L’s, grade 11, Youth Art Month (YAM) design was one of the 16 designs chosen for the 2014 Wisconsin Art Education Association’s Wisconsin Youth Art Month Flag. There were 327 designs submitted from K-12 grade students across the state. She will be recognized on Friday, April 4th at the State Capitol in Madison. Her design will be printed on a 5foot x 3foot flag that will be displayed in San Diego, CA during the National Art Education Association Conference.

About Youth Art Month

Youth Art Month (YAM) is an annual observance every March to emphasize the value of art education for all youth to encourage support for quality school art programs. YAM provides a forum for acknowledging skills that are fostered through experience in the visual arts that are not possible in other subjects offered in the curriculum.

State Bound Art Students

Congratulations to the following students for being selected to advance to the Wisconsin Art Education Association’s Youth Art Month State Art Exhibition in Madison. They are: Abby K., Kristi W., Brittnay B., Mikayla M., Gregory E., and Pa Zao V. Their work is currently on exhibit at the WAEA Regional Art Exhibition held at UW-Sheboygan Fine Art Gallery until February 7, 2013 with an artist reception/ceremony on January 27 from 12pm-2pm.
